About Gopal
Gopal is a member of SNAME (The Society of Naval Architects and Marine Engineers) and SOMWS (The Society of Marine Warranty Surveyors) and will strengthen our capabilities to serve the evolving needs of our clients.
Gopal has 35+ years of global offshore energy experience in design, construction, transportation, and installation of pipelines, risers, subsea structures, offshore platforms, and floating vessels. A graduate of the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kharagpur with a Bachelor of Technology (Hons) in Naval Architecture, his extensive portfolio spans projects across the Gulf of Mexico, West Africa, the Caspian Sea, Southeast Asia, and beyond.
His deepwater expertise includes projects in water depths up to 6,000 feet, with engineering leadership on pipeline design, subsea systems, and installation engineering for major operators including Murphy Exploration & Production, Noble Energy, Chevron, and Fieldwood Energy. Gopal has managed complex installations involving pipe-in-pipe systems, rigid and flexible risers, SCRs, and subsea tie-backs using reel-lay and S-lay methods for clients such as Technip, Subsea 7, J. Ray McDermott, Phillips Petroleum, Shell, TOTAL, ExxonMobil, and Saudi Aramco.
His project management experience ranges from FEED through detailed design to field installation support, with a proven track record of delivering critical infrastructure projects across multiple continents. Throughout his career with firms including Antares Offshore, London Offshore Consultants, and Leighton Contractors, Gopal has provided technical assurance and engineering management for some of the industry’s most challenging deepwater developments.
